Our cute little Coco hasn't been so great with our move. The vet gave him some Xanx for the flight here but it didn't seem to help much. He did sleep on the plane but was a nervous wreck the rest of the time. He was crying and whining in the airport and I am sure that people thought we were abusing the poor dog. Since we have got here he has lost weight, forgot he was house-trained, and forgot we are his family and he doesn't have to bark at us (or bite at Micah). So, Steven signed him up for obedience classes and we hope that helps. :) It also doesn't help that we don't have a fence in the back yard yet, so every time we need to let him out we have to hook him up on the harness and leash. He usually just goes outside and barks at everything around him and then comes back in and goes to the bathroom inside. Nice. He is not the only one that has had a hard time with the move. I could list lots of things (like lots) that annoy me or that has not gone as I planned, so I have not been a ball of joy either. haha I hope that it will just take little more time before things even out. Moving is always hard and it just makes everyone on edge. With that said, here are some cute pictures of Coco. I always take a lot. :)

What a huge adventure! I hope you like Chicago. I hear the climate isn't completely easy--but hopefully you like cold and windy better than dry and hot hot hot. I haven't read all your posts but I do remember you sounding forlorn about aspects of AZ, and I do hope you guys like your new home. How brave of your kiddies! They seem like real troopers. And I totally sympathize with moving exhaustion--I look around my house and I can't see how we could tackle moving NEXT DOOR, much less across the country! Sadly I am serious. Luckily it's not yet time for me to go on "Hoarders."
And: I hope hope hope your puppy feels better soon. I have a friend with similar dogs who lives here, in Idaho--she dogsits for a living--maybe she has online contacts of someone who knows how to help your dog acclimate to this big adjustment, if the obedience classes don't help. (It's amazing to me the knowledge that is out there--I certainly don't have it. Well, when it comes to dogs. I'm surely an expert on plenty of other things I can't think of right now.) I will follow future developments about this with interest! Your cute well-cared for dog being so stressed sounds sad and also completely unhelpful. Didn't she remember to ask if it was okay to freak out first? Couldn't she have at least waited til you had a working TV?!
Sorry to be going on so long, here's the last thing--if I'd been in the airport with you I would have been heartened that somebody cared enough about their dog to take them on the plane with them.
Good luck to you all. It'll be so fun when your daughter's famous--or goes on So You Think You Can Dance--to remember how adorably she grinned for pix when she was little.
Warmly,
Heidi
Coco has a lot in common with Champ (Carlee's dog). Champ had all kinds of issues when they moved in March but is doing much better now. I have my fingers crossed for cute Coco:)
Heidi, Thank you for the encouraging comment! We tend to throw away a lot of things all the time so it could have been worse to move all of our stuff! But, whether it's next door or across the country, moving is always a pain. I totally understand your frustration.
I would love to know more about how to get our dog to chill out. Whatever information you have would be greatly appreciated! And I agree, I expect to see Alexis on So You Think You Can Dance someday. haha :) She is a great little dancer.
Thank you, Susan! I hope he does get better soon. Your gandkids are growing up so fast! They are so cute. :)
