Field Trip to Naper Settlement

I was able to chaperone when the 4th grade went to Naper Settlement for their field trip in November. The kids were able to reenact all the things they used to do back in the day. They made butter, packed up a wagon, had school with an old headmistress, went to the blacksmith, did some square dancing in the old church, visited the post office and went to the printing press. It was really cold in the morning but warmed up by the end of the afternoon.
All of Mr. Gordon's class. :)
The girls waiting for the boys to finish chopping wood.
Grinding corn to make corn meal.
Alexis with her friends Maddie and Meghan.
Us after the field trip. :) It was a long day but I am glad I was able to spend time with Alexis and her class.
