I didn't take any pictures of our New Year celebrations, so here is my favorite sunset since we have lived here. :) On New Year's Eve we cooked up lots of veggies for our cheese fondue, we watched some shows, and the kids went to bed at 9 pm. They were too tired to stay up until midnight this year. I will have to say, I am very happy this past year is over. It has been one of hardest years I have ever had. It was full of loss, change, no vacations and hard times. I've tried to keep my posts positive and just focus on the highlights because if you knew how depressed I was about things, you would worry about me. Also, Facebook as well as some blogs have turned into a "my life is better than yours" brag fest and sometimes I don't want to play. The level of sincerity is very hard to gauge and so I pull back and don't share what I really feel. Moving here has been harder than when we moved to Arizona and I feel completely thrown off. So, with all that said I hope 2013 is better than 2012. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and had fun celebrating! I love Neil Gaiman and his books and quotes and so I have been sharing them, here is one I really like...
"I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind." ~ Neil Gaiman

I hope you have a great 2013 Allison. I am going to lunch with your sweet mom in a few weeks and I am very excited to visit with her. Keep smiling (is that a cheesy suggestion, or what?!?).
I am glad you will get together with her soon! She always enjoys your lunches. :) I like the phrase keep smiling, so I'll take it! Thanks Susan. :)
