We decided to go to the ward Christmas party this year (yes we did) and one of the reasons why I was so excited for it was because they had a gingerbread house contest. I really wanted to do something different (I have been watching a lot of Ace of Cakes on the Food Network) and so I thought of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' house. Steven was excited because he loves that movie and so he was on board. We spent every night this last week constructing our masterpiece, seriously we spent way too much time on it (aprox 20 hours). But I am happy to announce that we got 1st place! We received some movie tickets for all our hard work. I think it was worth it! The kids also got to see Santa, they are finally over their scared, crying, terrified of Santa stage. They had a great time.
